The RACS 5 system allows for software integration with the KONE Destination Control System (DCS) with the use of the KCEGC lift controllers.
The system can be integrated with KONE lifts using:
In the case of integration using the RCGIF protocol, the system assigns a lift to a user with appropriate access rights to take them to the specific destination floor. A lift, to which a user identified at the entrance reader (gate, tripod) should go to get to the default floor, is indicated at the associated display.
When integrated using the GCAC protocol, the system enables a user to independently select the destination floor based on the assigned access rights. The floor selection must be preceded by the identification at the lift panel reader installed at the landing door on the floor.
Integration with the KONE Access protocol provides the functions of both previously mentioned solutions. It is not, however, an online type integration for which a permanent high-speed communication link between the AC system and the lift system has to be provided, but a database integration, where user settings are transferred from the RACS 5 system to the lift system on the operator’s request or automatically at a certain frequency.
In general, integration with KONE lifts allows the access control system to cover not only doors but also floors of the lift system. The abovementioned integration methods can be used simultaneously, although in practice, depending on the requirements of a given facility, they are applied either in RCGIF + GCAC or RCGIF + KONE Access combinations. The GCAC + KONE Access combination is not used.
